Job description

The Vice President of Consulting Services will oversee consulting, project engagements and Partner management. These teams provide full lifecycle support for customers, from pre-sales through implementation and ongoing service. You will ensure that the Consulting Services group is well-organized, driving customer revenue, retention, growth, and satisfaction. With deep expertise in enterprise technologies, you will lead the team in delivering high-quality solutions while developing new service offerings to better meet customer needs.  You will be responsible for maximizing our partner status by fully taking advantage of solutions, partner designations, and Microsoft project funding. 

LMA

• Lead, mentor, and manage the Consulting Services team to ensure successful delivery of projects and alignment with business goals.

• Ensure timely resolution of project challenges by leading escalation management efforts.

• Communicate project goals and outcomes clearly, ensuring team members and stakeholders are aligned.

Consulting Strategy, Direction, and Oversight

• Direct consulting engagements to meet or exceed client expectations, providing both technical and project management oversight.

• Develop clear, actionable strategies for addressing client needs and ensuring deliverables are met.

• Assess current client environments and offer solutions that enhance long-term supportability and scalability.

• Drive service delivery through root cause analysis and proactive health assessments, ensuring that client needs are met efficiently.

Consulting Demand Generation

• Collaborate with Sales to provide technical input during pre-sales processes, driving consulting demand generation.

• Align consulting offerings with customer needs to generate demand for Microsoft solutions like Azure and Microsoft 365.

• Act as a thought leader in presentations, driving interest in Microsoft consulting services and positioning the company as a trusted partner.

Profitability and Growth

• Drive efficiency and reduce costs by optimizing consulting processes.

• Ensure consulting services are delivered profitably by closely monitoring resource allocation and usage metrics.

• Align service delivery with established standards to improve client satisfaction and drive long-term profitability.

Customer Retention and Service Optimization

• Continuously monitor customer needs to deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations, ensuring long-term retention.

• Analyze recurring service issues, develop solutions, and optimize service delivery for existing clients.

• Support client success by providing advisory services and technical guidance during key milestones like upgrades and migrations.

• Proactively identify and resolve issues to prevent future service disruptions and improve customer satisfaction.

Maximize Microsoft Partner Benefits

• Oversee and manage the organization's relationship with Microsoft, ensuring alignment with Microsoft partner programs and compliance with all requirements.

• Maximize the use of Microsoft rebate programs, co-op funds, and other financial incentives by ensuring timely submissions and compliance with program guidelines.

• Strategically pursue and maintain Microsoft Partner designations, such as Solutions Partner or Specialization status, to unlock additional benefits, enhance market credibility, and strengthen the organization's competitive position.

Job requirements

Qualifications

·         12+ years of experience across the Microsoft tech stack.

·         8+ years of experience of people management.

·         5+ years of experience in a service delivery business.

·         Experience with ITSM methods.

·         Understanding of Professional Services business dynamics.

· Experience developing a strategy and roadmap for a business function.

·         Experience managing client delivery teams and projects.

·         Executive-level presentation and communication skills.

·         Proven success in leading transformational change in a diverse operating environment.

·         Commercially astute with contract management expertise.  

Education and Training

·         A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
