Job description
The Staff II Accountant will work closely with the Controller. They are responsible for performing advanced accounting functions to support accurate and timely financial reporting. This role assists with general ledger activities, accounts payable functions, month-end close processes, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements. The Staff II Accountant also provides support for audits, compliance activities, and special projects while ensuring adherence to company policies, GAAP, and internal controls. They should have the ability to handle more complex tasks with minimal supervision.
Job requirements
Accounts Payable Process Owner
Maintain vendor records and vendor relationships, input vendor invoices and process vendor payments in accordance with agreed payment terms
Identify and implement process efficiencies
Manage corporate credit cards and processes
General Ledger Accounting
Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances in a timely manner.
Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
Support the preparation of financial statements, schedules, and management reports.
Monitor compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering data and preparing analyses.
Collaborate with accounts receivable and payroll teams to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for efficiency.
Recommend and support process improvements to strengthen financial operations and internal controls.
Participate in special projects as assigned by management.
Financial Documentation and Record-Keeping
Maintain vendor records.
Perform other accounting duties as needed, contributing to documentation and accurate financial record-keeping.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
Experience with financial statement preparation
Prior audit experience or exposure to internal controls
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
