Job description
The Controller will be a detailed, analytically oriented accounting professional. You will closely monitor US Cloud’s financial health and oversee day-to-day accounting procedures. You will prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP, project work and more. You will identify and implement process efficiencies. This role will prepare internal financial statements and analysis. The right candidate will be results-oriented and require a positive, highly motivated professional with a proven work ethic not afraid to strive in a fast-paced environment.
Job requirements
LMA (Leadership, Management, Accountability)
Oversee and support the Accounting Specialist while driving efficiencies leadership, fostering an environment of trust and productivity.
Work closely with business department leaders to understand the business drivers to ensure proper accounting,
Establish financial and operating benchmarks, , and program monitoring in conjunction with the CFO.
Ensure month-end financial closing processes are timely and efficient, including variance analysis.
Financial Statements in Accordance with GAAP
Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate KPIs. This includes P&L, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows
Prepare financial statements, analyze data, and interpret findings to guide business decisions.
Develop and maintain balance sheet schedules, ensuring accuracy in general ledger functions.
General Accounting Ownership and Treasury Management
Manage and monitor financial accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting, revenue recognition standards, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure proper accounting around deferred revenue, customer acquisition costs, and internally developed software
Oversee/own all general accounting functions for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger.
Treasury monitoring and liquidity forecasting
Financial Systems Administrator
Responsible for the maintenance of financial systems, ensuring they meet compliance standards and are optimized for efficient use.
Generate required financial reports, creating reports as needed
Provide data governance from front end systems (Salesforce, Payroll) to ensure proper accounting.
Expert-level Excel skills, including creating and modifying pivot tables, to enhance financial reporting.
Establish efficient treasury management functions
Finance Process Efficiencies
Develop, implement, and maintain guidelines to maximize the protection of company assets and streamline finance operations.
Document and maintain finance processes related to journal entries, ledger functions, and regulatory compliance.
Proactively identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and streamline financial systems, including the quote to cash and purchase to pay processes.
Qualifications
10+ years progressive accounting experience
4+ years of management level accounting experience
Working knowledge of financial accounting standards (GAAP
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
MBA, Master’s in Accounting or Finance, or CPA preferred
Payroll experience, with a focus on streamlining accounting processes
ERP systems administration experience
Treasury management experience
Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Professional accounting certification, including CPA, CMA, CGA, or CA
