Position Summary:

We are searching for a Vice President of Microsoft Consulting, an equity-earning position, to expand our leadership team as we introduce new enterprise support offerings into Microsoft technologies' advisory and consulting space. You will be responsible for accelerating our growing Microsoft services professional team which includes implementation resources, project managers, and emergent consulting practices. You will have a history of successfully building and leading diverse professional services teams, implementing strategy and methodologies with a focus on high-quality deployments of complex products. You will expertly balance demand versus capacity and have a strong grasp on the mechanics of a P&L with emphasis on customer retention and satisfaction. The Vice President of Microsoft Consulting is a critical role that requires a technically minded, metrics and process-driven, results-focused individual with client satisfaction in their DNA.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop executive-level interactive reports to track revenue, cost, utilization, bench capacity, and sales pipeline.
  • Recruit key practice leaders and top-level talent to build out practice capabilities, delivery leadership, and enhance our pre-sales teams to scope out the larger statement of work.
  • Accountable for operational and financial metrics for overall business results.
  • Maintain strategic direction to ensure profitable growth of the practice, quality of consulting delivery, and customer reference ability.
  • Maintain and grow a significant revenue stream and customer base.
  • Manage multiple first-line managers and/or senior-level individual contributors.
  • Serve as an advisor or project sponsor and resolve staffing issues for complex engagements.
  • Oversee competency, utilization, and business development plans.
  • Understand the business directions and trends related to the client's industry or domain; provide value-added solutions and suggestions to the client.
  • Understand the customer domain of activity and respond to customers’ priority needs for service and support.
  • Demonstrate prowess in revenue forecasting and profitability management.

Job requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of management consulting, advisory, or professional services with a combination of strategy and technology experience.
  • Proven success in progressive leadership roles.
  • Experience working in professional services in an enterprise software company or IT consulting.
  • Ability to lead through organizational change initiatives.
  • Strong technical skills/aptitude, specifically within the Microsoft technology stack.
  • Inherent business acumen across a variety of industries and business functions.
  • Experience managing client engagements and teams within larger programs, including managing day-to-day interactions with executive clients.
  • Proven ability to structure work and frame problems.
  • Demonstrated creativity, strategic thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional business writing skills that demonstrate a command of logical reasoning.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in fast-moving high-stress situations.
  • Must have the gravitas to be credible and influence Global 2000 CTOs and IT leaders.

Education:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
